A Pacific Northwest Sei-iki

Nestled in the hills in Southern Oregon, this Japanese-inspired timber frame home is under construction - being lovingly built by the homeowners, a cabinetry and furniture builder. No detail is too small for careful, thoughtful consideration.

From the owners: Our involvement in the unfolding of the EcoNest space has been deeply fulfilling for us, drawing on our personal love of form and space as it plays out in the day-to-day details of living in our home. We are struck, in a kind of Japanese way, by the deep importance that beauty and aesthetics play in daily life -- far more than the more superficial way it is understood in the West. It is a support for living. And the foundations of the EcoNest design are the essence of aesthetics and beauty, providing a calming and restful space, a refuge. We have named our home sei-iki, which roughly translates to "sanctuary" in Japanese. Working with you all has given us a chance to fulfill a dream. The essence of this feels like the home we are building is a 3-D reflection of our souls.
